My Side Of The Mountain (Chapter 2)


  • Where was Sam going when he left his home?
He was going to his great-grandfather's land to live.

  • Where is Sam's home?
Sam was living in his mountain in the tree, then he found his great-grandfather's land, so he's living there right now.


  • What did he take with him?

When he left home he took with him a pen knife, a ball of cord, a ax and he had $40.00.



  • What did Sam's father say when Sam told him he was running away?

He laughed and told him he tried to runaway when he was little too.



  • What did Sam catch for dinner?

Sam made catfish for dinner.



  • Did Sam cook his dinner? Why?

He did cook his dinner because Bill taught him how to make a fire and he cooked in catfish over the fire.



  • Where did Sam eat?

He ate at his grandfather's house.



  • Who taught Sam how to build a fire?

This guy he found in the wilderness taught him how his name was Bill.
