My Side Of The Mountain (Chapter 11)

~ What is needed to tan hide? How did Sam get it?
It had to  be steeped in tannic acid. He had to put water on the deer skin and needed an Oak Tree.

~ What did Sam do with the hide?
He put it on a stump and put water on it. He left it there for about five days then he dried it.


~  How did Sam make frog soup?
He fixed his frog soup in this order: clean, skin and boil until tender.


~ What did Sam need another deer for?
So he can make his suit out of deer.


~  Why did Sam and Frightful go to gather seeds, bark and tubers?
Sam was celebrating for Frightful for learning how to fly a whole 50 feet.


~  Where did Sam store his food for winter?
He had put them in the his tree and he didn't have enough  space so he cut down another tree.


~ Who got rid of Harold and Grace when they tried to sit on a boulder near Sam's tree?
It was the weasel he scared them by running around and scaring them.

~  What did Sam make out of the deer hide he caught in his trap?
He made his hide out of the door in his house, for a suit and to make Frightful a leech.


~  Why did Sam take the  sparrow away from Frightful?
So he wouldn't go wild. So anytime he catches something he wouldn't wanted to eat it right away.
